A it of a technical hitch meant that the first public run on cinema night of the new equipment which was "Great Expectations" resulted in loud all around sound music, but fairly inaudible dialogue from the screen! Things were better for "The Great Gatsby", but judging by audience feedback, the balance between the supposedly background music and sound effects and the dialogue still needs some tweaking otherwise the cinema is going to end up by losing, rather than gaining, audience as a result of the investment in new equipment!
